When Mr. Macky learns that reading scores at Ella Mentry are way down, he hires a special new helper to whip the kids into shape – Miss Klute, a labradoodle therapy dog. A.J. and his friends don’t understand what reading to a dog every day at story time is supposed to do, until the first time they do it. Suddenly everyone wants a turn reading to Miss Klute! But then the kids start to think that Miss Klute looks a little sad and is spending too much time cooped up listening to stories. Maybe their therapy dog needs therapy! When A.J. accidentally lets Miss Klute loose outside, a chaotic chase ensues that ends in the mysterious teachers’ lounge. What do teachers really get up to in there anyway?
